  1911 Standard Oil dissolution and mega mergers in the 1990's

In 1998, BP acquired Amoco (the former Standard Oil of Indiana) for $ 48 billion and in 1999 ARCO (Atlantic Richfield) for $ 27 billion. ARCO comprises the former Atlantic Refining Company of Philadelphia, which was part of Standard Oil and had been founded by William Gray Warden.
