Mary Townsend (Nicoll) Lord Cuyler, who was probably his mistress for several years, before becoming his second wife, only twelve days after Ida (Barry) Ryan died.

Like in other families, the remarriage of Thomas Fortune Ryan to the widow of Cornelius C. Cuyler was badly received by Ryan’s children, particularly his son Allan Alloysius Ryan. The schism between father and son eventually led to the latter being disinherited, but not before he lost his own fortune and more in the famous Stutz Motor stock corner of 1920.
