Profits from the Central Pacific Railroad the fortunes of the Pacific Quartet … Edwin Bryant Crocker was the first to die, in 1875. At the time of his death, he was no longer a partner in the Pacific Quartet, having sold his interest in the Contract & Finance Company, and the securities it held to the other partners in 1873.
