Tin Hinan
(she, who came from far away), great queen and ancestress of the Tuareg, her
daughter Tinirt and her faithful servant Takamat, from whom the vassal
tribes descended; Tanest, another legendary woman, or dasine, the great
poetess, the spiritual queen of the desert and Tersheddat, heroine of a
famous tale, are all outstanding personalities in the Tuareg history and
culture. On the theme of these heroic figures, our artisans have created
this unique collection of massive silver necklaces, some inlaid with thin
stripes of ebony wood. More than an outstanding jewel, each item is a symbol
of a great culture, nowadays menaced of extinction. |
